Our worship at Bethel continues a year-long series working through the biblical story from beginning to end, following the Narrative Lectionary. This Sunday we read about the anointing of David as King of Israel – an unlikely choice, as the youngest and smallest of the sons of Jesse. The story reminds us that while mortals look on outward appearance, “the Lord looks on the heart.”
