October 25 Worship Focus
· Theme: Visit from Mennonite Disaster Service
· Scripture: 2 Samuel 11:1-17, 26-27, Luke 9:1-6
· Speaker: Reynold Friesen
This Sunday we welcome a visit from our friends and partners at Mennonite Disaster Service. Executive Director Reynold Friesen will preach in our worship and share stories of current MDS projects during our Adult Education hour. The scriptures that will frame his sharing come from our fall journey through the Old Testament through the Narrative Lectionary. Holding the story of King David's pursuit of Bathsheba alongside Jesus' sending of his disciples prompts questions about the way we understand and exercise power and authority.
