June 7 Worship Focus

This Sunday we will begin a four-week worship series which will take us through the four chapters of Ruth. We are introduced to Naomi, whose great losses of her husband and sons set the context for the narrative, and then to Ruth, Naomi’s daughter-in-law, who demonstrates deep love and loyalty to her mother-in-law. Through the stories of ordinary women, we see God’s divine love lived out in extraordinary ways. How might we go and do likewise?

During the month of June, we invite you to find some time to read through the Book of Ruth—perhaps even in a single sitting! This short book is only four chapters long, or a total of 85 verses, but it’s a powerful story of God’s love and redemption at work, in and through the lives of ordinary people.
