September 28 Worship Focus –

Our worship at Bethel continues a year-long series working through the biblical story from beginning to end, following the Narrative Lectionary. On this Truth & Reconciliation Sunday, as we engage with Moses’ call to lead the people out of Egypt, we will also reckon with the call we’ve received to work at embracing the truth of the history of relations between settlers and Indigenous people in Canada and to take up the work of reconciliation. Like Moses, are we tempted to feel that the magnitude of this work is too great for us to have any true impact and to ask God to send someone else, or do we believe that the God who calls can also supply us with what we need to be a presence of healing and peace in our communities?
