In this season after Easter, we move from hearing stories about the ministry of the Apostle Paul to learning about the early church through his letter to the Philippians. In the opening of the letter to the Philippians, we hear of Paul’s gratitude for the Philippians’ partnership in the gospel and we are challenged by his ability to rejoice even while he himself is imprisoned. Can we draw hope from the resilience of the gospel and from these accounts of the faith and faithfulness of this early church community?
