Amelia Warkentin grew up attending Bethel, which made the transition into her new role as Interim Associate Pastor feel fairly seamless. Amelia graduated from Canadian Mennonite University in 2019 with a General Arts Degree. She then went on to the University of Manitoba where she completed an after-degree in Education. Amelia taught at Winnipeg Mennonite School’s Katherine Friesen Campus for two years before signing up for Mennonite Central Committee’s SALT (Serving and Learning Together) program. She recently returned from living in Kenya, where she served as an elementary school teacher. Amelia works mostly with the youth, young adults, young families and children’s ministry programs at Bethel. In her free time, she enjoys listening to audiobooks, going for runs, baking, and participating in community theatre productions.
