January 14 – Worship Focus

The Sermon on the Mount starts with the good news of blessings. These Beatitudes follow a pattern of pronouncing blessing that is a repeated refrain throughout the Hebrew Scriptures as well. Reading the Beatitudes closely can illuminate what it means to live well as participants in the unfolding kingdom of heaven, and open our eyes to see the blessings to be found in the path of discipleship.
