Call for Support from Rainbow Resource Centre

I’m reaching out to you and your congregation to ask for your support as Rainbow Resource Centre, as part of a collective of Manitoba’s leading 2SLGBTQ+ organizations, community leaders, and allies, come together to speak with one voice and denounce hate.

On Saturday, October 21, the No Space For Hate MB Collective is holding a counter-protest party at the Manitoba Legislative Building as those who oppose, like 1 Million March 4 Children, Action 4 Canada, and similar groups, hold rallies at City Hall and the Forks. We know they plan to march to the Legislative Building despite being denied a permit to do so.

Right now, anti-trans rhetoric and policies, like preventing trans youth from living authentically in the safety of school, is a leading contributor to the high levels of suicidality among trans youth. Movements like the 1 Million March 4 Children, further stigmatize an already stigmatized group of people – leading to life-long negative impacts. This level of hatred toward a marginalized group can not be allowed to continue. Will you stand with us against hatred?

We ask, in good faith, that you help us spread the word about the rally we’re hold at the Legislature. An event that will focus on joy as a way to combat hate. I’ve included some graphics you could share, or you can make a financial donation to support the performers, security training, and logistics.

Let’s talk about how your church can help us stop hate and save the lives of trans youth. Send me an email or give me a call.
