Gift Discernment

The Gift Discernment Committee looks forward to many conversations in the coming months. We are grateful for the gifted and involved people who work hard to carry out the mission that God has entrusted to us at Bethel. Every person’s involvement is important in building God’s kingdom.

For some at Bethel, your term on a committee has ended. You could commit to another term, immerse yourself in a different committee, or you might need a break. We expect variations of these responses in conversations with you.

Before we talk with you in person or by phone, think about what is happening at Bethel. Three years ago, we closed the doors of the church when Covid restrictions began. Now we have been back for a season and are able to fellowship together in worship services, Adult Ed, in the foyer or in sharing a meal. It is good to be together again.

What excites you now that we can gather again? What scars has Covid left in your life? How has Covid changed you/us? How has it affected your faith? How is your involvement at Bethel different in the aftermath of Covid? Where is your passion as you reflect on how you want to engage your gifts at Bethel? This is the spirit in which we want to have conversations with you. Yes, there are “openings” and needs that are evident if we want to carry out what God wants us to do. We know God will provide those needed to carry out our mission. To that end we look forward to our conversations.
