Food Bank Coordinator Position Available

New Food Bank Coordinator Position Available

The Witness Committee, together with Church Council, has approved the creation of a Food Bank Coordinator volunteer role at Bethel. The target date for this role to take effect is the beginning of September 2024. In recognition of the time and energy commitment involved, and in keeping with similar roles at Bethel, a monthly stipend of $200 will be offered to the person(s) filling this role.

The hope in creating this position is to reduce the administrative load that Pastor Kathy McCamis currently carries related to community ministry, freeing up more of her time for pastoral care both within the congregation and the neighbourhood. This comes as a follow-up to the recommendations from Kathy’s five-year review. The Food Bank Coordinator will assume leadership for much of the day-to-day operations and behind-the-scenes administration related to the food bank, allowing Kathy to participate in a primarily pastoral and relational role, directing more of her time to interaction with volunteers and community members, as has been the pattern with the food bank in the past.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on service, contributing to a significant component of our community ministry. A more detailed description of the imagined role is available here. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Pastor Kathy or Chris Carther-Krone, Chair of the Witness Committee.
