Harrow School

With rising prices at the grocery stores, food insecurity has become a challenge faced by many families in our neighbourhood. We are seeing this in the increased demands on our food bank on Mondays, where we served a total of 76 households this past week alone. One of the other areas where we’re noticing a change is in our partnership with Harrow School, where staff are noticing that more students are facing hunger this year than in the recent past. We are working to support the school and families in our neighbourhood by providing cereal for their breakfast program, as well as snacks for the school office to give students throughout the day. Many thanks to all of you who have already contributed snacks to this program.

We still need more snacks! If you would like to help meet this need, your donations of nut-free individually packaged snack foods can be left in the labelled bin underneath the mailboxes. Suggested snacks include granola bars, cereal bars, snack sized packaged crackers, fruit snacks, or energy bars.

Thank you for all of the tangible ways you are helping to show God’s love to children and families in our neighbourhood! An email we received from Harrow School this week says, “Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do for the school.”
