  • Be polite to everyone

  • No bullying, name calling or putdowns

  • No swearing

Respect the leaders which means…

  • Letting leaders know where you are

  • Listening to the rules

Respect the building which means…

  • No playing with water, paint, glue and other things that damage the church

  • No kicking or damaging the building

  • Cleaning up after yourselves

History

Bethel Kids Club (originally Neighbourhood Club) began about 20 years ago when some Bethel men joined local Jr. and Sr. High School boys playing ball hockey on our newly paved parking lot. When winter came they began to play in the church Dining Hall. Soon the program expended into a all genders, included crafts, games, outings and activities. “Talk Time”, a short devotion led by one of the leaders was added. Roughly eight years ago Bethel’s Boys and Girls Club merged with the Neighbourhood Club to form the Bethel Kids Club.  Over the years, the program has moved from a Jr./Sr. High program to one that includes children from the church and neighbourhood in grades 1 to 6;

Then

  • In 2011 Floor Hockey nights were revived and began meeting every Wednesday.  This has morphed into Bethel Sports Club where kids played Indoor Soccer and Floor Hockey; Now transformed into Bethel Youth Club

  • In 2012 we created a position for a Mennonite Voluntary service worker to help co-ordinate the planning and organization of these programs;

  • In 2015, we began an after-school program, 330, that serves grades 6 to 8 children of the neighbourhood.  After-school on Wednesdays, they hangout with each other, play games, ping pong/fussball and share a healthy snack together. Currently this program transformed into Bethel Youth Club.

Now

  • The Bethel Kidz Club (for children grades 1-6) meets every Tuesday nights while Bethel Youth Club (grades 7-12) meets on Wednesday nights.

  • All these programs seek to provide a safe and accepting place for kids of the Bethel faith community and its neighbourhood where they can have fun, make friends, witness good adult role models and learn about God;

  • In fall of 2021 BKC averaged 27 kids/night, BYC averaged 12 kids/night
