Joanna Loepp Thiessen

Music/Arts Coordinator

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Joanna Loepp Thiessen to the Bethel Family. Joanna will begin her duties as Bethel’s Music/Arts Coordinator September 1, 2022. She is a graduate of Rockway Mennonite Collegiate and has studied music at Wilfrid Laurier University and Canadian Mennonite University graduating with Bachelor of Music, Vocal Performance in 2022. During her studies Joanna was the recipient of numerous academic and music awards.

Part of her work experience includes the Main Street Project Winnipeg, MB, House of Friendship Men’s Shelter Kitchener, ON, Ontario Mennonite Music Camp Waterloo, ON, and Mennonite Voluntary Service San Antonio, TX, where some of her jobs were working with individuals who were recovering from addictions and case managing Refugee Resettlement.

In her application, Joanna wrote that her objective was “to serve the Bethel Mennonite Church community through inclusive, congregation-centered, and accessibility-minded worship facilitation and coordination. I would also seek to broaden the scope of worship arts by incorporating intergenerational worship methods such as the formation of a worship band, the integration of children in worship, and bringing all intentions and gifts together through the use of the Voices Together hymnal.”

We are excited that Joanna has accepted the Music/Arts coordinator position and look forward to introducing her in person to the congregation.
