November 23 Worship Focus

Our worship at Bethel continues a year-long series working through the biblical story from beginning to end, following the Narrative Lectionary. This Sunday, we will hold space for the names and the stories of those we have lost this past year and for the grief we all carry. We will turn to Jeremiah’s letter to the exiles and explore what it means for God to meet us right in the middle of our sorrow. We will reflect on how grief shapes us, how God’s hope grows, and how we can honour the love that still lives with us. This service will include a candle ritual naming especially those in the Bethel community who have died in the past year.
