About - Vision & Beliefs
Bethel Mennonite Church confesses that God is active in the world. Our desire is to be part of what God is doing. We want to align our worship, education, community life and witness with God’s work. Our mission is to “extend the table” of God’s goodness to our neighbours across the street and around the world.
Bethel Mennonite Church belongs to the Anabaptist Christian faith community. We are a congregation of Mennonite Church Manitoba and Mennonite Church Canada and thus partner with congregations around the world in mission, offering material and human resources in programs of church planting, education, healing and justice.
We affirm the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective as a guide to the collective faith and life of Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA. Even so, we recognize and affirm that significant theological and ethical variance with the confession is a continuing assumption and natural expectation for both a nationwide church and a local congregation engaging with an ever changing world.
Recognizing that we are all treaty people, with gratitude we acknowledge our gathering on Treaty No. 1 land and the traditional homeland of the Metis Nation.
Imitating the inclusive welcome of Jesus, we seek to be a community marked by the love of God.
Regardless of age, race, or sexual orientation, we invite you to make Bethel your spiritual home.
Sharing the peace of Christ, together we strive to reveal the realm of God in the world.
